projects: Lucky in Paradise

Lucky Minerals is well underway towards the permitting and exploration of 2,500 acres of mining claims along Emigrant Creek and on the flank of Emigrant Peak in Montana's Paradise Valley. I was flying in the neigborhood the other day and wanted to imagine what a gold mine might look like at the edge of Paradise Valley, a few miles from Yellowstone Park.

  • Emigrant Peak, looking south towards Yellowstone Park. Historic surface mining spoils visible on the flanks of the mountain, and along Emigrant Creek in the foreground.
  • Google Earth location map showing the mining claims proposed for exploration.
  • Closeup view of Lucky Minerals' mining claims.
  • Looking from the top of Emigrant Peak at the confluence of the East and Main Forks of Emigrant Creek.
  • Looking southwest toards Emigrant Peak and Paradise Valley.
  • Looking up Emigrant Creek.
  • Emigrant Peak as seen from the Paradise Valley.
  • For comparison the nearby open pit Golden Sunlight mine. Learn more about the Emigrant project from The Greater Yellowstone Coalition, The Park County Environmental Council, and from Lucky Minerals.
